United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Video & Audio Recordings
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Oral History Collection is one of the largest oral history collections discussing the Holocaust in the world. In addition to testimonies from Holocaust survivors who document their own experiences, the collection also contains oral histories from U.S. Army soldiers, like those of the 103rd’s 411th Infantry Regiment, who witnessed the realities of the Holocaust while liberating concentration camps. Testimony from soldiers in units like the 103rd Infantry Division, which was awarded the liberator unit distinction in 1985, offer first hand accounts of the liberation process and what soldiers encountered at camps like Kaufering, a subcamp of the Dachau concentration camp.
